What is this trip?

The Solo B&B Canoe Adventure is a hosted three day River Severn trip for people who want to travel solo without paddling alone.

You join a small group of other solo travellers, paddle the Shropshire stretch of the River Severn and finish each day with the comfort of a town, a proper meal and a B&B bed.

It is not a singles dating trip. It is a friendly, structured adventure for independent people who want company on the water, clear support and a simple way to experience a multi day canoe journey.

Why choose the Solo B&B Canoe Adventure?

Travel solo, paddle together

You do not need to find a friend, partner or plus-one to join the trip. The group is built around solo travellers who want the same mix of independence, company and adventure.

Comfort at the end of each day

After a day on the river, you can shower, change, eat properly and sleep in a real bed. It keeps the trip adventurous without making the evenings hard work.

A clear hosted format

Each day has a simple plan, a morning briefing and a hosted launch. You know where you are going, what to expect and how the day fits together.

Support without losing freedom

This is not a guided procession. You paddle as part of a supported group, with the reassurance of route advice, tracking support and contact if needed.

The journey: Shrewsbury, Ironbridge and Bridgnorth

The route follows the classic three day Shropshire section of the River Severn, linking quiet countryside with some of the river’s most memorable towns.

You start around the Crew Green area, paddle towards Shrewsbury, continue through the wooded Ironbridge Gorge and finish near Bridgnorth.

The B&B version keeps the evenings simple. The river gives you the adventure by day; the towns give you food, comfort and an easy place to unwind at night.

Best for

  • Solo travellers who want safe company on the water
  • People who like adventure by day and comfort by night
  • First time multi day paddlers who want a hosted format
  • People searching for solo kayaking in the UK but open to stable traditional canoes

2027

Day by day

Day 1: Crew Green to Shrewsbury

Meet the group, get your kit sorted and start the trip with a clear briefing and hosted launch.

The first day gives you time to settle into the canoe, get used to the group and follow the river towards Shrewsbury for your first town evening.

Day 2: Shrewsbury to Ironbridge

Leave Shrewsbury behind and follow the river south through quiet countryside, wooded banks and changing views.

The day builds towards Ironbridge Gorge, with riverside stops and the reward of arriving in one of Shropshire’s most famous river towns.

Day 3: Ironbridge to Bridgnorth area

The final day takes you through quieter reaches, wooded banks and sandstone scenery towards the Bridgnorth area.

It is a satisfying finish to a short adventure, with time to say goodbye to the group and head home after the river.

What solo travellers say

The river was breathtaking. Wildlife round every bend. If you are in any doubt we recommend you do it.

– H. Watts, TripAdvisor 5★

Amazing experience canoeing down the Severn for three days, staying at B&Bs on the way. Nigel was great, helped with the planning and a tricky portage. Fabulous holiday, would thoroughly recommend.

– Maps631046, TripAdvisor 5★

Great week with our dog. Quality kit and superb guidance. Most of the river to ourselves.

– Ian C, Google 5★

Questions

Solo B&B Canoe Trip FAQ

Do I need to bring someone with me?

No. This trip is designed for solo travellers. You book as one person and join a small hosted group of others doing the same.

Is this a singles dating trip?

No. This is a solo traveller adventure, not a dating trip. The focus is paddling, company, confidence and a shared River Severn journey.

Do I need paddling experience?

You do not need to be an expert. Many active beginners can manage this trip with the right attitude, the briefing and the group format. You should be comfortable being outdoors for several hours a day.

How does accommodation work?

The B&B version is shaped around town finishes and suggested overnight options. Accommodation is usually booked directly by you, which keeps the trip flexible and avoids single supplement style package pricing.

How do we connect before the trip?

We normally set up a pre-trip WhatsApp group so you can meet the others, ask questions and get familiar with the plan before launch day.

Can I bring my own kayak?

Ask before booking. Most guests use our traditional canoes because they are stable, comfortable and better for dry barrels and river travel, but we can discuss your own craft if suitable.

How do I book?

Choose one of the fixed departures on this page and start the enquiry. WhatsApp is usually the quickest way to ask questions before booking.
