Searching for solo kayaking in the UK or a single person boat trip? Our 3-day hosted format on the River Severn is the professional answer. Most guests start looking for a solo kayak but choose our traditional canoes for their stability and gear capacity. Running through Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, and Bridgnorth, these trips offer the perfect mix of remote river time and town comfort, all backed by 30 years of local navigation expertise.

How the solo trips usually run

Day 1

Crewgreen area to Shrewsbury. Meet the group, get fully briefed and launched. Paddle towards your overnight stay with time for food and a wander.

Day 2

Shrewsbury to Ironbridge. Pass under historic bridges and follow stunning vistas into the UNESCO Ironbridge Gorge with riverside stops along the way.

Day 3

Ironbridge to Bridgnorth area. Head through wooded banks and sandstone cliffs, finishing for pick-up or the option to extend your journey to Arley.

This is the typical B&B format. Camping departures offer the same supported 3-day shape but with more remote overnight spots.

Solo trip questions

Do I need any paddling experience?
No experience is required. We give a full safety briefing each morning, set you up safely on the river, and monitor progress with GPS tracking. Most solo travellers on these trips are beginners.
Is this a “Singles Dating” trip?
No. While these are popular for singles, they are not dating mixers. We focus on a shared social adventure for independent spirits who want to explore the UK outdoors without needing a partner to paddle with.
How does accommodation work?
You stay independent to keep things flexible. For B&B trips, I recommend vetted spots in Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, and Bridgnorth. You book directly so you control the budget. For camping, we use recognized riverside sites. I meet you at the landing each evening with your luggage transfers.
How do we all connect before the trip?
Once the group hits minimum numbers, I personally facilitate an introduction via WhatsApp or email. This allows you to say hello, share plans, and even coordinate car-shares or room-shares to reduce costs before Day 1.
Can I bring my own Kayak?
We specialize in traditional Canadian Canoes. Even if you usually look for solo kayaking, a canoe is the superior vehicle for the Severn, offering the stability and storage capacity needed for your luggage and kit.
